Explore an intense texture crafted in an array of fine finishes on a black metal canvas. Introducing the GMW-B5000, a true heir to the first-ever G-SHOCK in a multi-finish black metal design. The art of timepiece finishes is on full display with this watch. Honing finishes feature prominently on the bezel and band, with sides treated in a hairline finish and beveled band surfaces, screws and buttons treated in a mirror finish. The entire watch is then coated in black ion plating. Finally, the top surface of the bezel is polished once again in a hairline finish to expose nearly all of the stainless steel beneath the ion plating. Ion plating one shade lighter than conventional black integrates the re-exposed stainless steel of the bezel seamlessly into the overall design for a sophisticated, well-balanced, and singularly intriguing timepiece.

New finishing process
yields a uniquely appealing look

The entire bezel is thoroughly honed, with a hairline finish applied to the sides and a mirror finish to the screws and buttons.
The entire bezel is then given a black IP and the top surface only polished again with a hairline finish.
This removes most of the black IP down to the stainless steel, while leaving the IP in the engravings.
The black base colour treated with different finishes gives the watch a uniquely appealing look.

Matte black adds sophistication

The stainless steel bezel and band feature black IP in a lighter tone compared to the conventional black IP (of the GMW-B5000GD-1).
The chic, matte black on the honed surface adds sophistication and balances well with the silver of the stainless steel that remains after polishing.

Detailed finishing of band
and case back

The band pieces are honed, with different finishes applied to the details to accentuate the beauty of metal.
The links and buckle receive a hairline finish on the sides, while a mirror finish is applied to the bevelled surfaces.
The screw-back of the watch case is mirror-finished and then receives a DLC coating.

Square face design true to its roots

A true heir to the distinctive identity of the first-ever G-SHOCK, the iconic brick pattern of the original design adorns the dial. Features a super-twisted nematic (STN) LCD for superior contrast and a wide viewing angle.

Truth to origin and constant innovation: Full metal shock-resistant structure

Buffering components made of fine resin are installed between the stainless-steel bezel and case. With its metal exterior in the original form of the very first G-SHOCK, the watch makes the most of its shock-resistant structure.
